Managing Account Settings

Your account settings control your HireKit experience. Here is how to manage them.

Accessing Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar navigation. The settings page has multiple sections:

Profile Settings

  • Update your name, email, and contact information
  • Change your professional summary
  • Upload a new resume
  • Modify career preferences

AI Configuration

  • View current AI rate limits
  • Check daily usage per model
  • Adjust preferences for AI behavior

Notification Preferences

  • Follow-up reminders
  • Weekly progress summaries
  • New feature announcements

Account Security

HireKit uses Clerk for authentication, which provides:

  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) - Add an extra layer of security
  • Session management - View and revoke active sessions
  • Password updates - Change your password anytime

Managing Multiple Profiles

If you are targeting different career paths, create multiple resume profiles:

  1. Go to Settings > Profiles
  2. Click Add Profile
  3. Configure each profile with its own resume and preferences
  4. Use the sidebar profile selector to switch between them

Data and Privacy

HireKit stores your data locally in Docker. Your information stays on your own server and is never shared with third parties. Resume data and AI analysis results are stored in your PostgreSQL database.
